My Blog
I have never been a huge fan of foreign films, although when it comes to horror I am a little more open minded, as with Shaun of the Dead, which I liked almost immediately, and Dead Alive, which took a little more time to like (I had to get past the accents.) Not that I am opposed to accents, but rather the sense of humor found in foreign films is not quite on the same plane as mine, meaning either I am too dense to “get it” or it’s too Monty Python (which I can’t stand.)

Who doesn’t love B-movies? With their D-list actors delivering solid B characters, and a cheese factor that would make any wine lover drool…. Who cares if the story line is unrealistic and downright ridiculous? I for one don’t; I enjoy the hell out of it!

George A. Romero is one of my favorite directors.
He has a fetish for zombies much like I do, and that usually translates to a good film.

Back in 1994 a couple of no names decided to hook up with an equally no name low budget writer (Kim Henkel) who decided to make his directorial debut with yet another installment in the Chainsaw series. I might also add that this debut was his ONLY directorial effort.
Never heard of him? Neither have I. But I have heard of the two no name actors in this installment: Matthew McConaughey and Renee Zellweger. Talk about a weird combination!

Here we have college kids trying to fit in and trying to get laid, picking on nerdy kids, and providing the gratuitous boob shots that have become a staple of B-movie worthiness.
The acting was laughable, the cast was mostly no name actors, the script was so obviously memorized….
This was turning out to be a GREAT movie!
READ THE RESTAs some of you may have noticed, I have an appreciation for the “female species.” Most recently I sang praises to Angelina Jolie - and deservedly so. This next show of appreciation for the female “stud” is Jessica Alba.
People say I should stop eating red meat.
I mean drinking.
I think they should mind their own business. After all - a zombie isn’t picky as long as the meal is breathing….
