We all know where they are now. Just say a name and you know……… Tom Cruise; Brad Pitt; Angelia Jolie; Sly Stallone; Jamie Lee Curtis. But what about when they started out? So many of them started on a soap opera or in commercials. And many of them started on those cheesy B-movies I do so love:

leprechaun.jpg1. Jennifer Aniston - in 1993, starred in Leprechaun. After seeing this one (a favorite) I know better than to take a leprechaun’s gold! This leprechaun stops at nothing to kill anyone who gets between him and even one piece of his gold.

Unfortunately for the innocent it would seem he can’t die either. I say this because he was locked in a crate for 10 years without food or water or a bathroom, yet was as feisty as ever when he was released from his confines. The killing spree that ensued was rather fun, I must say………

2. George Clooney - 1988 Return of the Killer Tomatoes. Now granted he’s not the main character but wouldn’t that be even worse? Getting a bit part in a B movie?? That’s like working for free or something….. In a movie about tomato people who kill humans…………

tcm-2.jpg3. Rene Zellweger - 1994 Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre AND she played along side up and coming Matthew McConaughey who just happens to be one of the bad guys. I have not had the pleasure to see this one yet, but I can assure you it’s on my list.

4. Johnny Depp - in 1984’s Nightmare on Elm Street. It was his debut role and he played the guy who got sucked into the mattress and spewed out in liquid (blood) form………. I remember that scene well. EEWWWW!! This is definately a movie where falling asleep with the lights on will do you absolutely no good in hiding from the bad guys…….. don’t you just hate villians with knives for fingers???

5. Kevin Bacon - In the 1980 film, Friday the 13th, he was an unsuspecting victim of Jason. WOW was the acting awful back then! Altho I suppose having a spear rammed through a mattress and my neck simultaneously would be a hard part to do convincingly. He tried.

6. Jessica Alba - 1999 Idle Hands. I LOVE this movie! Seth Green also plays a part in this one. It’s horror with a comedic twist which I just love. Besides, who wouldn’t be intrigued by a demon who possesses your hand and not your whole body and goes around killing everyone you love??

werewolf.jpg7. Michael Landon - 1957 I was a Teenage Werewolf . This one dates back to the days when it was cool to see B movies in public, not in the privacy of your own home with all the shades drawn. And WOW would you look at that wonderful makeup job? Special effects just aren’t what they used to be, are they? Such a convincing werewolf…….

8. Leonardo Di Caprio - 1991 Critters 3 (aka Gizmo on steriods). This was Leo’s first film, having only appeared on TV previously. AT age 17 I guess you can’t be too picky unless you want to do nudie films. Probably a good choice on Leo’s part that he opted for this movie versus skin flicks. His film career seems to be doing pretty good these days.

That’s all I can come up with at the moment. Please feel free to add any of your own in my comments section. I love seeing the A-list actors play in B-list rolls. And even washed up A -list actors who can only get parts in B movies premiering on the Sci-Fi channel……….

Hmmmm…. I think I know what my next post is going to be……..

Some people say that I must be a horrible person, but that’s not true. I have the heart of a young boy — in a jar on my desk.
