I haven’t been much for writing these last few days. I can’t seem to get my brain to focus long enough. Old age perhaps? Anyway, I have spent some time surfing the web in hunt for zombie parts. Sites filled with blood and guts. Sites dedicated to dismemberment.
You know - cool shit.
If you think Stephen King has a twisted mind, you might be interested to know that in the printed world, he’s really rather tame. While Stephen King weaves a story of disbelief and macabre, he does not shock with the grotesque.
Not like some.
I have never been a huge fan of foreign films, although when it comes to horror I am a little more open minded, as with Shaun of the Dead, which I liked almost immediately, and Dead Alive, which took a little more time to like (I had to get past the accents.) Not that I am opposed to accents, but rather the sense of humor found in foreign films is not quite on the same plane as mine, meaning either I am too dense to “get it” or it’s too Monty Python (which I can’t stand.)
You want blood? It’s in here.
You want gore? Yeh - we got that, too.
You want non-stop zombie action? Then pop this baby into your DVD - it’s guaranteed to satisfy!
Typically I am not a fan of movies that provide gore just for the sake of shock effect. Usually in these cases the gore is lamely executed or the story line is exceptionally weak.
It’s also in these cases that I find myself annoyed or disgusted, all too aware that the movie is trying to make up for an extremely poor plot by providing mass quantities of blood and innards and gore (think Cabin Fever.)
While surfing the web as it seems I always do (I lead such an exciting life) I ran across a quiz that I excelled at (otherwise I’d be really embarrassed) and I thought it would be fun to see how you guys do.
