While the movie was okay, I totally loved the books. I really appreciated the fact that the writer planned everything out and left hints and clues through the whole series that lead right into the ending. Yeah, it's romance I guess. It still has some blood tho.

Petra

I actually liked twilight and feel there must be more to all the vitriol it receives than the fact it is a sappy love story at its core. But many vampires films are love stories. I read lots of criticism on things ranging from it not really being a horror film to the bands on the soundtrack not being cool enough or something. Perhaps the film's success and popularity with teenage girl viewers has tainted it for some viewers. The fact that teenage girls like a film does not mean it will be a bad film any more than a film is great if beer guzzling frat boys approve of it. I felt the film was well made and the story was tight and professional. I am no longer an expert on what is 'cool' but I do feel horror film viewers have become rather jaded and snobbish. It is rare that a horror film is this well crafted. Is it a great horror film? Maybe or maybe not. I will be waiting for the New Moon sequel myself and if that puts me in the 'uncool' crowd that is how it is.

Thanks
Bill

Also, I hated the 'Glitter' I thought that was ridiculous, but liked the new vampire folklore element.

In other vampire news:

Have you seen this trailer for 'Daybreakers' ?

For me the Lost Boys/ Twilight connection is the sound track and romance element, not necessarily a connection anyone else will get, but I was a teenager when I first watched Lost Boys and watching Twilight just reminded me of that time (silly female teenager type feelings) lol

Noughties http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=noughties

Not naughties, although vampire + sex is a great combo :P

Ok I am trying to get your correlation between Twilight and Lost Boys but I can't. Lost Boys was gritty and rough while Twilight was sappy and sweet.

Ummmm.... what exactly is the "noughties" edition??

Oh you watched it! I am in shock.

I liked it, it was like watching Lost Boys the noughties edition, well without the humour of that film.

When it comes to vampire films, I am more into romance and velvet, than blood and guts :)
