Finding Nemo

I have a secret I've decided to let you guys in on....
... a confession.
I love animated movies.
Not animae - animated. As in Shrek; Monsters Inc; Ice Age; Happy Feet (absolutely LOVELOVELOVE Happy Feet but I will save that for another post)....
....because this post is about a classic, all time feel good, fabulous animated film called....
Finding Nemo.
I cannot begin to tell you how good watching this movie makes me feel. It helps that I enjoy the actors playing the "roles" - my favorite roles being Dory and Crush (give me some fin!)
I've often wondered if my being of the age that I am (a woman never tells) and the fact that I have no children, and yet I chose to watch these movies, makes me a bit of an oddball. Is that a bad thing?? Maybe. But frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!
What I found most entertaining about this movie, aside from everything else that was entertaining, was the dialog. Very witty, heartfelt, humorous, and very memorable.
For those of you living under a rock and have not seen Finding Nemo, it's about an over-protective clown fish, Marlin, who loses his kid, Nemo, and sets off into the wide blue ocean to find him. Along the way, Marlin hooks up with Dory, a silly little fish who suffers from short term memory loss. Their journey is long, and trying, and full of heart. You will laugh, and cry, and cheer, and find yourself wanting to never eat sushi again.
That is, until lunch time anyway....
Favorite Movie lines from Finding Nemo:
Ellen Degeneres as Dory -
- "The sea monkey has my money."
- "yes, I'm a natural blue."
- "I speak whale."
- "Relax! Whales don't eat clownfish. They eat krill. Oh look! Krill!"
- "Will you quit it? I'm trying to swim here. Isn't this ocean big enough for you or something? Have you got a problem buddy? Huh? Huh? Do you, do you, do you? You want a piece of me? Yeah, ooh, I'm scared now!"
- "No eating here tonight, no eating here tonight, you on a diiieeetttt!"
And my favorite from Dory that actually made me cry (yehyeh, shaddup!)
- "No. No, you can't. ...STOP! Please don't go away. Please? No one's ever stuck with me for so long before. And if you leave...if you leave... I just, I remember things better with you! I do, look! P. Sherman, forty-two...forty-two... I remember it, I do. It's there, I know it is, because when I look at you, I can feel it. And...and I look at you, and I...and I'm home! Please...I don't want that to go away. I don't want to forget!"

Andrew Stanton as Crush the Turtle -
- "Oh, I saw the whole thing, dude! First, you were like, whoa! And then we were like, WHOA! And then you were like, whoa!"
- "Whoa - kill the motor Dude!"
- "Oh, man. Hey, no hurling on the shell, dude, okay? Just waxed it."
- "You, Mini-Man! Takin' on the jellies! You got serious thrill issues, dude."
- "Give me some Fin! Nogin!! Dude!!!!"

Nemo's pop, Marlin, played by Albert Brooks:
- "THE DROP OFF?! They're going to the drop off?! What-what-what are-what are we, INSANE?! Why don't we just fry them up now and serve them with chips?!"
- "He's EATING us!! [rubbing his tail on the whale's tongue] How do I taste, Moby? Do I taste good?!"
- "If this is some kind of joke, it's not funny! And I know funny! I'm a clown fish!"
And of course, Finding Nemo would not be the same without the "Shark Pledge:"
- "I am a nice shark. Not a mindless eatin' machine. If I want to change this image, I must first change myself. Fish are friends, not food!"
And Bruce the shark's personal confession:

- "Hello. My name is Bruce. It has been three weeks since my last fish, on my honor, or may I be chopped up and made into soup."
If you have not seen this movie, you are missing out on a gem of happiness. This movie will make the worst of moods disappear only to be replaced with warm fuzzies. I know it sounds lame, being on a horror blog and all, but it's true. I love this movie. And if you have a heart, you will too.

Finding Nemo. Great scary B movie. Glad to see you are sticking so closely to the subject of your blog. Now, if you are all done feeling warm and touchy-feely, I have a serious quiz for you.
What would you prefer your job to be after the apocalypse?
1. Salvager of valuables off dead bodies
2. Zombie killer
3. Last Hope Radio DJ
4. Ruler of remote outpost, only one with semblance of law and order
———
I would choose “zombie killer”. Because of all of your good recent advice, I have the knowledge (and many of the tools and weapons) to do this job well.
Don’t you think that was a great question? I stole it from Grumpus’ squeeze Charles over at his blog http://www.charlesandthebbb.blogspot.com/ . ‘cept I forgot how to make a link on your type of blog platform. Just as well – it would probably take your host’s server down anyway. Doesn’t take much.
I wonder who Charles stole it from? YOU didn’t make it up earlier, did you?
See you on the 24th. Don’t fight with Claire while I’m gone. (But for sure when I get back, K?)

MAX – I too would be a zombie killer, equally as hot as Mila and equally as badass. I must check out Grumpus cuz if he’s swiping crap from me he best damn well be linking!! I need the love, Man!! (and no, I have not been hitting the pipe) and yes, that was a very good question.
Where the heck are you going until the 24th? What did I miss????
RED – I love sushi too. Kinda makes me feel bad thinking I am eating Nemo’s cousins…. but only for a moment.
We LOVE Finding Nemo!
