Love the new design Petra! I’m not sure what kind of header you had before, but I always enjoyed the monkey. The first time I saw the nose move I had a little giggle. But I’m also the type that would enjoy a picture like the one on the right. Which I understand, some people are not too fond of.

@Everybody who posted/voted: Ok – I get the hint. The zippered mouth pic is a bit intense for most people and according to my dearly beloved, it probably makes people think that I am a bit maniacal. Add that to the fact that the pic makes Claire have homicidal thoughts, and we probably have a recipe for disaster.

I liked the green eyes better, maybe change it to red eyes to work for your layout though. Really though, this is a horror blog for the most part, no? I think your header is just twisted enough.
